Pair Staffordshire Soldiers on horseback
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.6ins high, 6.7ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a military theme which feature a soldier on the back of a horse, cannons below, stood on a shaped base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.
Vent hole to the underside.

Condition
Right facing: Generally good.
A few paint losses to ground and right front hoof.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to his right hand
and hat;
touch mark to the reverse.
RESTORATION: Both heads reglued and joins retouched.
Retouched paint losses to orange cape.
Left facing: Good.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
RESTORATION: Tip of left foot remodelled.
Retouched paint losses to cape,
horse's muzzle,
ears
and tail
and ground.
