Staffordshire cow figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 4.5ins high, 5.3ins wide, 2ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a cow, stood on a shaped base. Painted base line.

Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Book reference not found.

Condition

Good. No restoration.

Chip to the base edge at reverse.

A few paint losses to cow's markings.

Some wear to the reverse

and cow's face and ears.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the cow

and underside.
