pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 6.5ins high, 8.1ins wide, 5.9ins depth. Wood and Caldwell Staffordshire jug/pitcher which features lustre borders, spout and handle.
Decorated with an angel, fawn and cherubs, stood directly on the ground, no base.
Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Maker's marks to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to the body of the jug, cherub's nose, leaves and grapes above one cherub's head.
Staining from use.
Some rubbing and scratches to the lustre.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze and stained crazing to the interior.
