Staffordshire Christ on the cross holy water stoup

Victorian, circa 1850. 14.4ins high, 6.7ins wide, 3.9ins depth.

Staffordshire holy water stoup with a religious theme which features Christ on the cross surrounded by angels, stood on a shaped base. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt embellishment.



Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to the water stoop.



Slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: craze lines to the front and reverse;







staining to the cross at reverse;



shrinkage line to the front lower base edge;



a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the base and water stoop.
