Neale Staffordshire Pearlware Ceres figure
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 6.3ins high, 2.4ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Neale Staffordshire pearlware figure with a classical theme which features Ceres,
the Greek goddess of agriculture, stood on a square base.
Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the underside.
Maker's marks 'CERES', impressed to underside.

CONDITION: Good.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to her face,
left arm,
skirt
and reverse.
RESTORATION: Corner section to base reglued and join retouched.
Small filled and retouched chips to lower base edge.
