Pair Staffordshire grey cats with glass eyes
Victorian, circa 1900. Tallest is 12ins high, 7.9ins wide, 4.3ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a cat, seated directly on th
e ground, no base. Grey version. Bright gilt embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside.
Maker's marks registration number molded into underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: finger print to the right hind paw;
over glazed shrinkage line to the cat's nose;
touch mark to the reverse of cat's head;
a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the front.
Left facing: Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to the cat's tail;
small firing hole to the left side of cat's nose;
shrinkage line along the mold join to the cat's chest and neck.
