Staffordshire Pearlware lustre cow creamer

pre-Victorian, circa 1830. 5.9ins high, 7.5ins wide, 2.6ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware cow creamer with a pastoral theme which features a cow, stood on a rectangular base.



Pink lustre version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.









Hole with cover to cow's back. Mouth forms a pouring hole.

CONDITION: Generally good.

Short, tight hairline to base.





Tiny chips/flakes to the udders



and base edge.





Flake to base by cow's right front hoof.





Small flake to rim of the hole in the cow's back.





A few minor paint losses to russet markings, some lustre markings rubbed.











KILN EFFECTS: firing crack to the left foot.





RESTORATION: Remodelled ears, horns,









tail,





cover





and teat.



Retouched flakes to base rim.
