Staffordshire girl on Disraeli dog figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 9.3ins high, 7.5ins wide, 3.5ins depth.
Staffordshire figure with a childhood theme which features a girl lying on the back of a black and white Disraeli dog, stood on an oval base.
Black and white version. Dull gilt embellishment.
Decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
Generally good. Flake to ground, girl's dress and hat, all to reverse.
Some paint losses to hat feathers.
Bruise to hat at reverse.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks around the base rim, not visible when sat on a flat surface;
a few flecks of stray coloured glaze.
RESTORATION: retouched chip to skirt hem;
retouched flakes to ground and top of dog's tail;
retouched paint losses to ground,
dog's eyes, muzzle, tongue and paws,
and to girl's eyes, hat and dress.
