Pair Staffordshire Old Bachelor & Old Maid figures
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.7ins high, 4.3ins wide, 3.1ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature an old lady with her pets and an old gent having tea, seated on a shaped base.
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.
Open bottomed.

Condition
Female: Generally good. Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the front and reverse;
a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the top of the base.
RESTORATION: Lady broken in half, body reglued join retouched.
Retouched paint losses to the orange enamel.
Male: Generally good. A few paint losses to his left trouser leg.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the front and reverse;
a few tiny specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to saucer and table top;
shrinkage crack to the front of the base and a few to the underside;
small firing holes to his left hand,
left side of jacket,
top of base and reverse.
RESTORATION: Retouched paint losses to the orange enamel.
