Pair Staffordshire No.4 black&white spaniels

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 7.5ins high, 5.5ins wide, 3.1ins depth.

Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base.

Black and white version. Dull gilt collar and locket.



Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.





Maker's marks no.4 molded into the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. Small flake to tail.



Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.



RESTORATION: Filled chip to left paw and to base edge at reverse.







Retouched paint losses to paws and muzzle.





Left facing: Generally good. Hairline to right front leg.



Rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to the reverse.





RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack across the front from the left ear down to the tail.
