Staffordshire Girl with whippet by kennel & bird figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 8.9ins high, 6.1ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a highland girl with whippet, kennel and bird, stood on an oval base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated mainly to the front.
Vent hole to the underside.

Condition
Good.
Small flake to lower base edge at front.
Some paint losses to the ground.
Rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to skirt;
firing crack to underside, running up the base front;
firing hole to dog's body;
kiln soot caught in the glaze;
small firing pits to dog's muzzle
and the ground;
over glazed chip to upper base edge at front;
stray coloured glaze to the kennel.
RESTORATION: retouched paint losses to hair,
shoes
and skirt.
