Small Pair Staffordshire Cats

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 3.7ins high, 2.1ins wide, 1.4ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature cats, seated directly on the ground, no base.



Decorated mainly to the front.



Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: firing cracks to the underside;



shrinkage line along the mold join;



over glazed chip to the base edge.



RESTORATION: Cat's left ear remodelled.





Retouched flake to nose



and right hind leg.



Left facing: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: tiny shrinkage line to the cat's right ear;



shrinkage crack to mold join to cat's back.



RESTORATION: Retouched flake to nose and right ear.



Retouched shrinkage line to the mold join between front legs.
