Staffordshire woman & cat figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.9ins high, 3ins wide, 1.8ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a lady carrying a basket of game, with her cat at her side, stood on a shaped base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.



Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.



Vent hole to the underside.



Book reference not found.

Condition

Good. No restoration.

Bruise to her dress with associated chip and flakes.



A few paint losses to cat's markings and her dress.



Slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the cobalt blue glaze;





small firing pit to her bonnet;



flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.
