Pair Staffordshire leg free pugs

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 11.2ins high, 5.3ins wide, 7.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a pug, seated directly on the ground, no base.



Bright gilt embellishment.





Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.







Vent hole to the underside.

CONDITION: Right facing: Good.

A few paint losses to tail.



Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: faint shrinkage line along the mold join to both sides.





RESTORATION: Left front paw reglued and join retouched.





Retouched flakes to top of left leg



and paint loss to paws,





muzzle,



eyes



and ears.





Left facing: Good.

A few paint losses to eyes,



ears





and muzzle.



Some rubbing to gilt.



A few scratches to it's back and hind legs.







KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing.
