Miniature Staffordshire castle

Victorian, circa 1860. 2.6ins high, 2.7ins wide, 1.1ins depth. Staffordshire castle which features a twin turreted keep, stood on an oval base.



Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. No restoration.

Chip to central tower.



Shallow chip to underside.



Tiny flake to tallest tower.



KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to the reverse and underside, with associated flakes;





kiln soot and detritus caught in the glaze;





flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.
