Large Staffordshire Otter hunter spill vase
Victorian, circa 1860. 16.7ins high, 10.2ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Staffordshire spill vase with a hunting theme which features an otter hunter,
his dogs and an otter, stood on an oval base.
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good.
A few paint losses to pink on his shirt
and feathers in his hat.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the ground;
glaze run to the cobalt blue glaze to the reverse.
RESTORATION: Top half of piece and right arm reglued and joins retouched.
Retouched paint loss to his boots,
hair,
moustache,
spear,
otters,
spill vase
and his left orange sleeve.
