Pair Staffordshire Queen Victoria&Prince Albert figures

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.1ins high, 3.1ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire porcellaneous figures with a royalty theme which feature Queen Victoria and Prince Albert seated on thrones, modelled with open backs, stood on a circular base.



Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version.



Dull gilt base line and embellishment.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Opening to the reverse.

Condition

Queen Victoria: Generally good.

Paint losses to her shoe.



Some rubbing to gilt.





KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to her skirt;





staining to the reverse.



RESTORATION. Filled chip to her right hand,



crown and to base.





Retouched flake to her left elbow and paintloss to her hair.







Neck reglued and join retouched.





Prince Albert: Generally good.

Some rubbing to gilt.





KILN EFFECTS: staining to the reverse;



flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.



RESTORATION. Filled chips to base.







Retouched flakes to his face.
