Pair Staffordshire greyhound inkwells
Victorian, circa 1870. Tallest is 4.9ins high, 6.7ins wide, 2.4ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire inkwells which feature a greyhound, recumbent on a cobalt blue base.
Multi-coloured version. Bright gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition
Right facing: Good. No restoration.
Tight hairline to right paw.
Some flakes to right ear.
Some rubbing to gilt.
Scratches to base and greyhound.
KILN EFFECTS: faint, over glazed shrinkage line to the left ear;
small firing pit to left shoulder.
Left facing: Good. Some rubbing to gilt.
Wear to greyhound's back and neck.
Scratches to base and greyhound.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the greyhound.
RESTORATION: Filled chip to base.
Stabilised and retouched hairline to left paw.
Retouched paint losses to muzzle.
