Small Staffordshire sailor figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.1ins high, 2ins wide, 2ins depth. Staffordshire figure with a maritime theme which features a sailor, stood on a circular base.



Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.





Decorated mainly to the front.



Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Slight rubbing to gilt.



Slight wear to the barrel.



KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to his nose,



base



and the reverse;





bruise to the base.



RESTORATION. Filled chip to his hat.
