Pair Staffordshire cow & milkmaid/milkman figures
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 6.3ins high, 7.7ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a pastoral theme which feature a cow and milkmaid / milkman by a stream, stood on a shaped base. Multi-coloured version. Bright gilt embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent holes to reverse and underside.

Condition
Right facing: Generally good.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the cow's face
and right legs.
RESTORATION: Remodelled left horn.
Right horn has been retouched.
Left facing: Generally good. No restoration.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot and detritus caught in the glaze to the ground,
cow
and to base;
shrinkage line to the base.
