Staffordshire russet & white begging spaniel pitcher
Victorian, circa 1860. 10ins high, 4.5ins wide, 4.3ins depth.
Staffordshire jug/pitcher which features a begging spaniel modeled with tricorn hat, floral decoration and ochre line around rim, stood directly on the ground, no base.
Russet and white version. Bright gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.
Maker's marks to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Good. Tiny flake to spaniel's muzzle.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to the spaniel's neck.
RESTORATION: Paint loss to eyes, leaves and russet markings have been retouched.
