Staffordshire hunter & hounds spill vase

Victorian, circa 1860. 10.6ins high, 6.7ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Staffordshire spill vase with a hunting theme which features a hunter with his two dogs
(whippets/greyhounds), stood on an oval base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version.



Dull gilt base line and embellishment.







Decorated mainly to the front.

CONDITION: Generally good.

Two tight surface hairlines to spill rim.





Some small flakes to spill rim,





gun,



white ground



and lower base edge.





Some rubbing to gilt.





RESTORATION: His head reglued and join retouched.







Filled chips to his hat, face,





left hand,



black dog's ear,



ground behind brown dog's tail,



ground and base.





Stabilised and retouched hairline to brown dog's muzzle.
