Staffordshire Pearlware recumbent stag with bocage
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 7.5ins high, 6.3ins wide, 3.1ins depth.
Staffordshire pearlware bocage figure which features a stag, recumbent on a shaped base.
Multi-coloured version.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Open bottomed.

Condition
Good. Some small flakes to reverse of bocage.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the underside;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the reverse of bocage and to stag's left hind leg.
RESTORATION: Remodelled antlers.
Bocage tree reglued and join retouched.
Filled chips to bocage (leaves 95% still in good original condition).
