Staffordshire Rabbit eating lettuce

Victorian, circa 1860. 4.9ins high, 9.6ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a rabbit eating lettuce leaves, crouched directly on the ground, no base.



Black and white version. Dull gilt embellishment.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.







Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: a speck of kiln grit caught in the glaze top of rabbit's head;



a few flecks of stray coloured glaze to rabbit's head and back;



touch mark to black marking on rabbit's back;



shrinkage line to side of hind right leg.



RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched crack running from left front paw over left ear and finishing infront of right hind paw.









Retouched flake to hind right leg.



Retouched paint losses to black markings.







Filled chip to front right paw





and right ear.
