Victorian, circa 1850. Tallest is 6.1ins high, 3.1ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire porcellaneous figures with a childhood theme which feature a lady and gent, each holding an infant, seated on a circular base. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated only to the front.

CONDITION: Female: Generally good. Two small chips to stool.
Flaking to old restoration to neck.
Small flake to baby's bonnet.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
Slight wear to bonnet.
KILN EFFECT: staining to the bonnet and the base.
RESTORATION: Old restoration to lady's neck and nose
and baby's right hand.
Male: Good. A few paint losses to hair.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
Some wear to both arms.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the underside;
small firing hole to gent's left leg;
small over glazed chip to base;
staining to the base, stool and reverse;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the base.
RESTORATION: Left arm and left hand reglued and join retouched.
Stabilised and retouched hairline to his neck and his right wrist.
