Staffordshire russet spaniel with bow jug/pitcher

Victorian, circa 1860. 7.4ins high, 5.5ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Staffordshire jug/pitcher which features a spaniel with a bow, seated directly on the ground, no base.



Russet and white version. Bright gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Slight rubbing to gilt.





Slight wear to rim.





KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to his nose and tail;





flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.



RESTORATION: Handle reglued and joins retouched.









Ears and russet markings have been retouched.
