Tacked over card with black paper backing.
The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches.
Simple oval line border.
Stitched in red.
Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-12.

Hipping Hall is now a country house hotel near Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria. It was originally the family home of the Tathams.
CONDITION: Generally Good.
A number of holes.
A few pale patchy stains.
Some stitch losses to the border, divider lines and letters/numbers.
Colour is slightly faded but still well defined. No colour run.
Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
