Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches.

No border.

Colours black, yellow, green, pink, brown and cream.

Signed and dated 'Mary White 1788'.

Depicts a map of England and Wales with the counties.

CONDITION: Generally Good.

A few holes.

A couple of pale stain specks.

Age darkening of the ground, especially to the edges.

Stitch losses to county names,

borders

and sea names.

Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.

No colour run.

Neatly and evenly stretched.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
