1728 Apostles' Creed Band Sampler by Ann Burton. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.

Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.

No border, divider lines in various patterns.

Colours cream, magenta, green and gold. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and numbers 1-12.

Verse reads

'I BELIEVE IN GOD THE FATHER

ALMIGHTY MAKER OF HEAVEN

AND EARTH AND IN JESUS CHRIST

HIS ONLY SON OUR LORD WHO

WAS CONCEIVED BY THE HOLY

GHOST BORN OF THE VIRGIN

MARY SUFFERED UNDER PON

TYUS PILATE WAS CRUCIFIED

DEAD AND BURIED HE DESCEND

ED INTO HELL THE THIRD DAY

HE ROSE A GAIN FROM THE DEAD

HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN AND

SITTETH ON THE RIGHT HAND

OF GOD THE FATHER ALMIGHTY

FROM THENCE HE SHALL COME TO

JUDGE THE QUICK AND THE DEAD

and hearts.

CONDITION: Good.

Two small holes.

A few stains.

Stitch losses to the divider lines.

Some colours very faded making them difficult to read.

No colour run.

Stretching is very slightly uneven.

Frame in very good condition, ready to hang.
