George Jones Majolica sardine dish & cover

Victorian, circa 1870. 4.3ins high, 5.9ins wide, 6.7ins depth. George Jones Majolica sardine box which features shells and seaweed. Colouration: pink, green, ochre, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1842'.

CONDITION: Cover: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: small craze line to the upper side of the rim.



RESTORATION: Filled chips to finial.





Stabilised and retouched crack to rim.



Retouched flake to rim.



Dish: Good. Some small flakes to seaweed.



RESTORATION. Retouched flakes to both rims.
