Majolica Basketweave Egg cup Cruet Set

Victorian, circa 1880. 5.1ins high, 7.6ins wide, 5.3ins depth. Majolica egg cup cruet set which features a stand modelled in the form of a basket, which holds six egg cups.















Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant. Book reference not found.

Condition

Stand: Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to top rim.





Slight wear to top of handle.



KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the basket exterior;





a few shrinkage cracks and lines to both ends of handle and around the top rim.











Cups: Generally good. No restoration.

1: bruise to rim, with associated hairline.





2: slight wear.





3: bruise and a hairline to rim.









4: small firing hole to interior.



5: very tight hairline to rim; reglued foot.









6: overglazed chip to foot.
