Victorian, circa 1890. 3.3ins high, 15.4ins wide, 15.4ins depth. Mafra Majolica wall charger which features a large toad and snake on a leafy ground, surrounded by smaller lizards and insects. Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

CONDITION: Generally good. Some flakes to shredded clay.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze.
RESTORATION: Section of rim and snake's head reglued and join retouched.
