Majolica Palissy fish supporting Nautilus shell vase
Victorian, circa 1890. 10.2ins high, 5.5ins wide, 5ins depth. Palissy Majolica vase which features a small lizard and snake resting on a nautilus shell,
which is supported by three fish.
Colouration: green, grey, blue, are predominant.

CONDITION: Generally good.
Flaking to the shredded clay.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks where the three fish tails,
chests
and lower jaws join together;
firing hole to one fish's lower jaw.
RESTORATION: section to base reglued and join retouched;
one fish's upper jaw and both dorsal fins reglued and joins retouched;
