Majolica 'What is it' chick posy holder

Victorian, circa 1880. 3.7ins high, 4.5ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Majolica toothpick holder which features a chick staring down at a frog.

The piece is titled ' WHAT IS IT'.

Colouration: brown, ochre, green, are predominant.

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to the chick's back.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the ground, frog and holder

; a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the ground, chick and holder;

over glazed bruise to the rim;
