Victorian, circa 1873. 10.8ins high, 6.5ins wide, 5.1ins depth. Minton Majolica jug/pitcher with lid which features a bust of Shakespeare on a portrait panel at the front, with the inscription 'TERCENTENARY 1864 WILL.SHAKSPEARE.BORN.1564.' around the centre.
Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.
Bears a pattern number, '1105'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1873.

CONDITION: Generally good. Flaking to pewter lid and rim.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage lines along the mold joins.
RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched crack to rim running down to foot (still slightly visible to central border).
