Pair Gustafsberg Majolica bird vases
Victorian, circa 1887. Tallest is 12.6ins high, 7.9ins wide, 6.3ins depth. Pair of Gustafsberg Majolica vases which feature a bird looking at a frog perched on a leaf, and a bird with a fish in its mouth.
Colouration: green, cream, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Gustafsberg pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1887.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Generally good. Hairline to rim.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to the stork's neck;
glaze run to the reverse of the vase.
RESTORATION: End of stork's left wing remodelled.
Filled chip to rim.
Retouched flake to tip of stork's right wing.
Left facing: Generally good. KILN EFFECT: glaze pop to the base rim.
RESTORATION: Reglued head and tip of stork's left wing.
Filled chip to rim.
Retouched flake to curled leaf from vase to ground.
