Small Cunha Majolica Palissy frog & moths plate
Victorian, circa 1890. 5.5ins high, 5.5ins wide, 2ins depth. Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a frog surrounded by moths and grubs.
Colouration: green, brown, blue, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Cunha pottery.

Condition
CONDITION: Good.
Some small flakes to the shredded clay,
frog's eyes
and one moth's wing.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the frog
and one grub.
RESTORATION: filled chips to shredded clay;
one moth wing tip reglued and join retouched;
remodelled antennae to one moth;
retouched flakes to both grubs.
