George Jones Majolica compote

Victorian, circa 1879. 5.5ins high, 8.5ins wide, 8.5ins depth. George Jones Majolica compote which features a basket dish, supported by three branches.





Colouration: green, brown, white, are predominant.



The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, '3225 3'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1879.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Scratches from use.



The mark on the underside is filled with dirt.



KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to the interior;





over glazed shrinkage line to the centre of the bowl.





RESTORATION: Filled chips to all three feet.
