Victorian, circa 1890. 7.9ins high, 5.1ins wide, 7.1ins depth. Jose Francisco de Sousa Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plaque which features a horse's head.
Colouration: light brown, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose Francisco de Sousa pottery.

CONDITION: Good. Small flake to tip of right ear.
KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to the reverse;
flecks of stray coloured glaze all over;
a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.
RESTORATION: Old filled chips to the reverse edge.
