Majolica monkey & pineapple vase

Victorian, circa 1870. 7.2ins high, 4.3ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Majolica vase which features a monkey holding a pineapple.





Colouration: ochre, green, grey, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. Some small flakes to rim.







KILN EFFECTS: kiln grit caught in the glaze to the monkey and pineapple;







over glazed shrinkage lines to the base of the pineapple;





glaze run to the green glaze.







RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched hairline to rim.





Filled chips and retouched flakes to rim and the pineapple at the reverse.
