Delphin Massier Majolica crab & fish in waves bowl

Victorian, circa 1900. 6ins high, 14.2ins wide, 9.3ins depth. Delphin Massier Majolica bowl which features crabs and fish amongst rolling waves.





Colouration: blue, brown, pink, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Delphin Massier pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to high points of the molding to waves.





Slight wear to crabs backs.





KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to interior and exterior;





flecks of stray coloured glaze to interior.



RESTORATION: retouched flakes and chips to waves, rim and crabs;



















stabilised and retouched crack to side of bowl.
