D'Avellar Majolica Palissy lizard & snail plate
Victorian, circa 1890. 6.4ins high, 6.4ins wide, 2.4ins depth. F. Gomes D'Avellar Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a snail, lizard, two grubs and a moth.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the F. Gomes D'Avellar pottery.

CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to shredded clay, lizard's nose and snail's head.
RESTORATION: Filled chip to rim, foot rim and to moth's wing and antennae
Retouched flakes to shredded clay.
