Majolica 6 well fish oyster plate

Victorian, circa 1860. 10.4ins high, 9.8ins wide, 0.8ins depth. Majolica plate which features six oyster wells moulded as fish heads, a larger fish to the rim.



Turquoise ground version. Colouration: grey, ochre, brown, are predominant.

Wear to the high points of the molding,







the rim and underside.





KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;



over glazed chips to the rim.





RESTORATION: Filled chip and retouched flakes to rim.
