Majolica Palissy crocodile vase

circa 1890. 11.8ins high, 5.9ins wide, 6.7ins depth. Palissy Majolica vase which features crocodiles, snails, flowers and leaves.

Colouration: cobalt blue, brown, yellow, are predominant.

CONDITION: Good. No restoration.

Flake to rim.

Slight wear to the flowers

and snails.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the base;

shrinkage cracks to the rim;

a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the exterior.
