Victorian, circa 1870. 5.3ins high, 10ins wide, 7.5ins depth.
George Jones Majolica game pie dish which features a partridge on the cover with barley and stiff leaf decoration to the dish.
Turquoise ground version.
Colouration: turquoise, green, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery.

Condition
Dish: Good. No restoration.
Two flakes to exterior.
Some wear around the rim.
KILN EFFECTS: a small firing pit,
slight kiln grit and glaze pops to exterior and interior.
Cover: Good. KILN EFFECTS: staining to craze lines to partridge;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to turquoise ground;
glaze run to the brown glazes.
RESTORATION: stabilised and retouched crack to rim.
