Minton Majolica robin nut dish

Victorian, circa 1869. 3.5ins high, 8.1ins wide, 4.9ins depth. Minton Majolica nut dish which features a robin sat on a twig with holly leaves and berry decoration. Colouration: cream, brown, green, are predominant.











The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 29/11/1869.

Generally good.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze pop to the interior;



a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior.



RESTORATION: Robin and a section of the rim reglued and joins retouched (joins still slightly visible).





Retouched flakes to beak.





Stabilised and retouched hairline to the dish.
