Victorian, circa 1890. 3.1ins high, 13ins wide, 13ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features three lizards and two beetles.
Colouration: cream, green, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to shredded clay.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage lines to the lizard's bodies;
glaze run to the brown glaze.
RESTORATION: Three filled chips to shredded clay, one to a lizard's tail and four to foot rim.
Retouched flake to beetle's horn and lizard's head.
