Victorian, circa 1870. 8.3ins high, 11.2ins wide, 7.9ins depth. George Jones Majolica game pie dish with liner which features a fox and hunting paraphernalia.



Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, green, brown, are predominant.



















Bears a pattern number, '2263'.

KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to underside of the rim.







RESTORATION. Remodelled tips to both fox's ears.

Flakes to lower base edge.











Kiln effects: firing pit to interior;



piece of kiln detritus to interior;



shrinkage cracks to the bird moldings to exterior.











Restoration: Two filled chips to rim.











Retouched flakes to exterior.
