Rare Minton Majolica cobalt ground strawberry dish

Victorian, circa 1868. 8.5ins high, 8ins wide, 1ins depth. Minton Majolica strawberry server which features strawberry fruits, leaves and flowers.



Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, turquoise, are predominant.



The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1330'. English diamond registration mark for the date 03/04/1867. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1868.

Good. No restoration.

Two small flakes to rim.





KILN EFFECTS: two pieces of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior;





a few specks of kiln soot caught in the glaze to the flowers;





slight cloudiness to the cobalt glaze.
