Victorian, circa 1890. 15ins high, 15ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Jose Francisco de Sousa Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall charger which features a large spider crab and a variety of shellfish.
Colouration: green, red, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose Francisco de Sousa pottery.

Condition
CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to edges of some of the shells, to crab's back and to the green shredded clay.
KILN EFFECTS: small glaze miss to one of the crab's legs.
RESTORATION: Stabilized and retouched hairline to the rim running on to the underside.
Filled and retouched chips and flakes to four of the shells and a peice of coral.
